Data collected for program management and oversight of the Department's public water system surveillance program. Data includes information on basic system inventory, facility and source features, and water quality analyses. This information is reported to the United States Environmental Protection Agency and provides data to other DNR programs and the general public. Data is used to monitor and track water quality. This perpetual inventory is maintained on the DNR VAX mainframe computer system, using VMS 5.5 software, designed in Oracle/RDBMS (Relational data base Management System, with programs written in COBOL/SAS/SQL.
